QQC #2

Quote: "It's sort of a sneaky way of blaming everything on the gods." (Quinn 62)

Question: Why did the gods let the world become the way it is now?

Comment: God knew that his humans would disobey him and learn the knowledge of good and evil. He knew we would fall into the temptation of evil and sin. He knew we would destroy the world, so why did he let us? It's one of the great mysteries in religion. He wanted us to live in peace and happiness, and created the world so we could, but didn't stop his creations from learning of good and evil. Because of that original sin, we know what is right and what is wrong, and have the free will to choose between the two. Morality is strong for people, but temptation is stronger for most. We fight and kill and lie and hurt and hate. And although we work and make the effort to behave the way we were meant to, under God's rule and commandments, this wouldn't need to happen if He had prevented the original fault in the first place. As His creation, we can only assume that this is part of a bigger plan he has for us-just as our joining Him in His kingdom is another part of the plan. What the entire plan entails, we do not know. It's a mystery.
